MLB Baseball 5/15/08 Rockies - Diamondbacks

Colorado Rockies (Aaron Cook) v. Arizona Diamondbacks (Brandon Webb)

At 9:40 PM, look for Webb to continue his string of dominance.  Cook has been crazy good compared to his career figures, but when you look at Brandon Webb’s numbers at home they are nasty.  Take the D-Backs -165.  The extra $65 will be worth the risk against the run Web  has been on.

Baseball…

I post two baseball plays and they both lose in an unlikely manner.  Sorry guys, I have been rolling hot all week, I just only post a play or two here for fun.  Next MLB I put here is going to be a winner.  mark it!

Look out as I am on fire early this week in Tennis and NBA.  I will be posting more soon.

BTW, Any picks I post here I am laying real money on, plus many more that I do not post.  This is how I make my living and have been doing it for sometime now.  Any questions or comments rjohnstone08@yahoo.com

ATP Tennis 5/15/08 Verdasco - Ferrer

Fernando Verdasco v. David Ferrer

ATP Masters Series Hamburg, Germany

I really like Ferrer -240 in this one.  Although the career series between them is tied at three a piece, Ferrer has really been stepping up his game as of late, especially on clay.  This is a solid value bet on the chalk, which doesn’t happen often.  Go with Ferrer.

Baseball for 5/14/08 BoSox at Baltimore

Boston Red Sox (Jon Lester) at Baltimore Orioles (Daniel Cabrera)

The Sox are looking to rebound after a tough loss last night to start the series.  Lester has been shaky, especially after his last outing but the Bats are going to come alive against Cabrera.  Watch out for a big game from Big Papi after he got screwed in the 9th last night.  Play on the Red Sox -120.

I may post something closer to tip off tommorrow like 6PM EST

NBA Playoffs 5/14/08 Cavs/Celts

Cleveland Cavaliers v. Boston Celtics

This is going to be a tough gritty game with everything on the line.  I can’t see Cleveland not covering 8.5 points.  Lebron is destined to have atleast one break out game in the series, this seems like as good a time as any.  Plus the NBA would benefit from LeBron advancing.  I am extremely hot this week hitting on all sports, Play the Cavs with the 8.5 points.

NBA Playoffs 5/12/08 Cavs/Celts

Celtics at Cavaliers

I like Cleveland at home tonight on the moneyline -135.  Home teams in the NBA Playoffs so far are 14-1 and the cavs are 15-5 in their last 20 at home.  LeBron says the playoffs don’t start until someone wins a road game.  That’s not going to happen tonight.  Play the Cavs on the money.

Weekend Recap

After a dissapointing loss the d-backs took, I took the weekend off because Man U was a lock.  I’ll be back in a day or two with some fresh picks

Premiere League Soccer 5/11/08

Sunday at 10AM EST will be the 38th and final week of the 07/08 Premiere League.  I have only been handicapping soccer for this past season and I am an astounding 20-3.  This Sundays action could be my best weekend yet.

Wigan v. Manchester United

With the standings at the top of the Premiere League tied at 84 points a piece between Man U and Chelsea, this is a must win for the Red Devils.  Cristiano Ronaldo is chasing history to become the all-time single season record for goals in the Premiere League.   Ronaldo sits at 20, one shy of the record of 31.  United has a 17 point GD so if they win, they are in.  I think Ronaldo breaks the record with 2 and Rooney adds one for a 3-0 easy victory and the Premiere League Title.  Play Man U hard at -400.  It will be the easiest play you make for a while.

OH, and btw, United are 17-1-1 and Old Trafford this year with a +40 GD

Underdog ALERT!!!!

Derby County v. Reading

Although it is a long shot the payout is nice and should be considered for a smaller wager.  Derby has had one of the worst seasons in League history and have been relegated back to the Championship League.  Reading is all but relegated and won’t be playing for much.  Both squads are garbage on this level for sure.  I think Derby plays their hearts out in their Premiere League game for at leasta season if not more.  Play Derby County +485 with caution

Arizona Diamondbacks (Haren) at Chicago Cubs (Lilly)

Play on the snakes in the friday early special at -110.  Dan Haren has been pitching brilliantly in his return to the National league.  He is 4-1 with a 3.12 era with an offense that does not let up from 1-8.  The D-backs are 23-12 and not letting up anytime soon.  Especially against a Cubs team who they absolutly dominated in the postseason, including Ted Lilly who let up 6 runs un 3.1 of Game 2 of the NLCS.  Put your money and trust in Dan Haren on this day and make some easy money.

Hello All.  Welcome to rjohnstone08 Sports Handicapping.
